STATUS OF WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN INDIA

Abstract

The changes in the social fabric in Indian society, increase in the educational status of women demonstrate that there is a need to change the lifestyle of Indian women. As compare to developed countries, in developed countries both men and women participate equally in all activities. Women are successful in all areas like housewife and other working activities. Women manage all activities efficiently and can take responsibility for the businesses. Due to expending dependency on the service sector in the economy, the opportunities of being an entrepreneur for the women have increased. It is observed that women owned an enterprise generally grows very fast and contributes active participation in the economic and social development of the nation. The primarily objective of the study is to examine the status of women entrepreneurs in India. The present paper also examines the role of women entrepreneurs in development of the country and challenges faced by women entrepreneurs while doing business in India.
