Abstract
Kurt Lewin was trained as a psychologist; he was a researcher as well as a theorist. His contributions to psychology were eclectic in terms of area, and it was only toward the end of his life that he concentrated on the social psychological studies and ideas that make him particularly relevant for organizational behavior. Because his theories were developed prior to the emergence of organizational behavior as a field (see Miner 2002 for a discussion), they are labeled in the title of this Article in terms of the disciplines from which they had their origins.
