SEASONAL VARIATION OF PARASITIC NEMATODE INFECTION IN GALLUS

Abstract

Agricultural biodiversity, sometimes called Agrobiodiversity, "encompasses the variety and variability of animals, plants and micro-organisms in support of, food production and food security" and Rearing Gallus for poultry farming also comes under this category, which is source of food in both their meat as well as their eggs. The present study deals with the study of prevalence of intestinal nematodes of Gallus domesticus in and around Chapra in different seasons of three annual cycles from April 2009 to June 2012. For this study total 640 Gallus were randomly selected and their intestine was examined. The percentage of nematode infection was found highest (84.3%) during summer followed by winter (76.3 %) and lowest during rainy season.
