Abstract

One of the most backward segments of human species all over the world, the Indian women experienced an air of freedom when a call of resurgence came to them from the West. The impact of the advanced democratic ideals and liberal urges and new standard of equality rejuvenated the women, who had long been panting under the position of inferiority to men as a natural dispensation, began to feel the stir of a new life.
