Abstract

Past research into the causes of waste in construction projects indicate that waste can arise at any stage of the construction process from inception, right through the design, construction and operation of the built facility. Materials storage and handling, and procurement factors were considered as the main sources of waste on building construction sites. The present paper aims to find the major causes of waste in Material Storage and Handling phase and Procurement phase in infrastructure projects. The study concludes by finding the major causes that escalates wastes. Relevant recommendations and suggestions have been provider to the infrastructure managers regarding the findings of the study.
