Abstract

Abstract Ever since E-commerce had spread its paws across the globe, email marketing has become an important mode of marketing. Email marketing is a direct way to reach thousands of customers at a very low rate compared to the any other mean. Under email marketing, the message can be optimized as an image, graphic, hyperlink, text or the combination of all these into an electronic mail and send to any number of potential customers. In email marketing you have the complete attention of the potential customer towardsthe advertising content. Organizations are using this to send product information, e-newsletters, white papers, feedback forms, surveys etc. Over the time, every organization started accommodating email marketing into its marketing mix, and this has led to the bombardment of emails to the customers. Mail boxes are flooded with the emails from numerous sellers. Now the situation is that most of the emails end up unnoticed. Majority of the emails get lost as spam or not even opened by the customer.
