INTRODUCTION As pointed by State Budgetary Resources and Agricultural Development in Rajasthan that Agriculture plays an important role in Rajasthan economy. It contributes about 30% of GDP. According to 2011 census, 77 percent of the Rajasthan’s total population of 6.86 crores lives in the villages and is mainly dependent on agriculture activities for their livelihood. Enhancing growth of the agriculture sector is vital for ensuring the food security , poverty eradication , price stability , overall growth and sustainable growth of overall economy. Owing to several adverse conditions among which occurrence of famines , poverty and lack of education and general awareness are more significant , this high proportion of population is not capable of providing significant contribution towards the prosperity and development of the state.
