Abstract

ABSTRACT Indian retail market is one of the fastest growing retail market in the world with an estimated value of Rs 47 trillion by 2016-2017. Though still dominated by a large number of small retailers, the Indian retail market has undergone substantial expansion in the organized segment with big domestic companies such as Reliance, Spencer, Bharti investing substantially in the organized retail sector. With Govt. approving FDI in multi brand retail the scenario of Indian retail market is going to change substantially. In this paper we are analyzing these changes on various stakeholders in the Indian retail market and the various issues and concerns raised.
