GREEN HUMAN RESOUCE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: A REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Abstract

Due to environment consciousness and awareness businesses can no longer run after profits only. There is a move towards green economy and in every sphere organizations have to be environmentally sensitive. Green Human Resource Management (HRM) is one such area. Green HRM which is integrating environment and human resource management enhances organizations goodwill and provides competitive advantage. Moreover the talented youth has started looking for employers with a ‘green brand’. So in light of this following green practice becomes a tool to attract talented people. This paper attempts to conduct a review of literature on Green HRM and tries to bring out key strategies which can be adopted from the entry to exit stage of human resource. Another key aspect covered in the paper is Green Work Life Balance. Panasonic Asia is taken as a case to illustrate the practices and strategy followed in practical world towards the green initiative.
