Abstract
Possession of knowledge on rights of child on the part of teacher is of utmost need to achieve the goals of education system. It is beyond doubt that teachers unaware of knowledge on different rights of child cannot treat child properly. The main purpose of this paper is to find out the level of awareness of teachers towards rights of child and how it is related in terms of streams of teachers and gender. It is found that 90% of male teachers and 80% of female teachers opined against child labour and rest supported child labour practices. The study revealed that Arts teachers were more aware about rights of child than Science teachers. It is suggested that simple, meaningful awareness programmes on rights of child should be organized to aware teachers, community members and students themselves.
