Abstract

Heaney’s Nobel Lecture “Crediting Poetry” emphasizes the importance of being rooted in one’s own culture. He credits poetry for everything. As he says that it can explore the real world. In this research paper Heaney’s attitude towards his own land will be explored. Ireland being a limbo state… Heaney has expressed his anguish and love for his land. His poetry often becomes a dissent. The dissent for empowering the being or “I”.
