Abstract

The term demography has been defined as the study of components of population variation and change. It was applied in French academic circles to statistics concerning the life coalitions of the people especially those effecting health and mortality, but in modern usage it has been restricted to the study of population, i.e. the quantitative analysis of population structure and trend.
