LABOR WELFARE MEASURES IN UPSRTC WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO VARANASI REGION

Abstract

The progress and prosperity of a nation depends on the pace of its industrialization, which in turn, depends on the output and productivity, higher output and increase productivity are largely outcome contended and skilled labor beside of course technology and efficient deployment of the other factors of production the contended workers are assets to the industry and welfare measures contribute a great deal to the contentment of workers while the need for labor welfare is acute, in India what can be spent on its falls short of requirements ,the poverty of Indian workers make it necessary to introduce various welfare measures. The concept of labor welfare received strength as a national objective. UPSRTC has facility but in an impoverished state medicine are not available as per need and requirement of the workers Maintenance of industrial peace and harmony is a vital for sustained economic growth and continued productive employment for the workers. The industrial relations situation in UPSRTC as shown improvement in the year under the reference following economic reforms in the corporation , management role through the timely and effective conciliation of industrial disputes and involvement of social partners in the formulation of implementation of industrial relations policies and programmed have successfully harmonized the interest of the employers and the workers through the difficult phase of the industrial restricting. Managerial and supervisory vacancy in the corporation is often filled up from internal source of recruitment and non supervisory staff in UPSRTC require recruited by making use of external sources of recruitment for the selection of the employee the performance test and the interviews are the basic parameters however the nepotism and favoritism are said to be in vogue. But the international Labor organization in one of its report has observed that the term labor welfare measures lend it various interpretations,
