Multiple systems of governance continue to exist at the local level even after constitutionally mandated self-governing panchayat institutions were introduced in 1993. Some of these are traditional institutions that have existed from colonial times, while others have been added to implement Central and state government policies as their development plans have unfolded since independence. Still others have emerged out of the new rhetoric of governance and neo-liberalism. Abstract

The aim of present investigation was to determine the effects of different dose of arsenic salt sodium meta-arsenite (SMA) on the blood parameters of catfish, Clarias batrachus. The mortality rate increased with increased concentrations of arsenic salt. All the blood parameters (erythrocytes, leucocytes count, and hematocrit and hemoglobin conc.) decreased with increasing concentration of toxicant and become significantly (p< 0.05) lower at higher concentration when compared with the control. The derived hematological indices of mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were equally lowered. It is believed that observed depression in hematocrit and haemoglobin values coupled with decreased and deformed erythrocytes are obvious signs of anemia. In conclusion, the changes observed indicate that hematological parameters can be used as an indicator of arsenic related stress in fish on exposure to elevated arsenic levels.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was founded at the beginning of the 1970s as a method for effective communication and modelling by the linguist John Grinder and student of mathematics Richard Bandler. Bandler and Grinder modelled the cognitive and behavioural patterns of the famous therapists Milton Erickson, Virginia Satir and Fritz Pearls, and based on those investigations formulated the principal ideas of NLP. Studies relating stress factors and life events to illness appear with remarkable regularity in the major psychological, Psychiatric, Psychosomatic and sociological journals and to a lesser extent in those of chemical medicine. The motion of socially induced stress as a precipitating factor, chances of disease is gaining acceptance among a wide spectrum of scientists. It is becoming recognized that stress can be one of the components of any disease not just of those designated as psychosomatic illness. As Dodge and Martin, have expressed it, “the diseases of our times namely the chronic disease, even susceptibility to microbial infectious disease is thought to be a function of environmental conditions culminating in psychological stress on the individual, rather than simply of exposure to an external source of infection.

Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah’s Kashmiri nationalism clashed with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s Indian nationalism. The clash was inherent in their relationship even at the best of times. Nehru arrogantly spurned conciliation and resorted to brute force, with the aid of the army, by ousting Abdullah from the office of Prime Minister of Jammu & Kashmir on August 9, 1953, and imprisoning him for 11 years. What is little known is that he subjected his prisoner and erstwhile friend to hardships; denying visitors access to him and foisting a conspiracy case which he knew to be false—plotting for accession to Pakistan and waging war against India.
