Gluten proteins play a key role in determining the unique baking quality of wheat by conferring water absorption capacity, cohesivity, viscosity and elasticity on dough. Gluten proteins can be divided into two main fractions according to their solubility in aqueous alcohols: the soluble gliadins and the insoluble glutenins. Both fractions consist of numerous, partially closely related protein components characterized by high glutamine and proline contents. Gliadins are mainly monomeric proteins with molecular weights around 28,000-55,000 and can be classified according to their different primary structures into the alpha/beta-, gamma- and omega-type. Disulphide bonds are either absent or present as intrachain crosslink. The glutenin fraction comprises aggregated proteins linked by interchain disulphide bonds. After reduction of disulphide bonds, the resulting glutenin subunits show a solubility in aqueous alcohols similar to gliadins. Based on primary structure, glutenin subunits have been divided into the high-molecular-weight (HMW) subunits (MW=67,000-88,000) and low-molecular-weight (LMW) subunits (MW=32,000-35,000). Each gluten protein type consists of two or three different structural domains; one of them contains unique repetitive sequences rich in glutamine and proline.

Vat was introduced into the Indian taxation system from 1 April 2005. Vat is a significant improvement over the local sales tax system. At the state level the advantage of vat is that it is a multi-point tax with set-off for tax paid on purchases and it prevents repeated taxation of the same product. Despite the success of vat there are still certain limitations in the structure of vat both at the central and at the state level. To solve the issues untouched by vat the then Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee while presenting the budget on July 6, 2009, said that GST would come into effect from April 2010.

Abstract

The euphoria about AAP spectacular debut has slowly but surely started to sink in. Though it is early days to comment on whether the AAP has been a success or a miss, the events unfolding in the last one month raise some serious questions about the future prospects of the Delhi government in particular and the party in general. In the last one month which has gone by since AAP came into picture, they have come under intense scrutiny one after the another and one controversy has followed the other. The antics they have used and the posturing they have taken have forced the observers to question their idea of democracy. They fear that democracy under kejriwal rule has been slowly converted into mobocracy. The AAP it seems does not want to come out of agitation mode and involve itself into some serious politics for the betterment of the people. The first daunting task before them was to provide free supply of water up to a limit to the households and drastically cut the electricity tariff. Far from solving the issue, things have become much more complex than before. For example, what about a large percent of Delhi population who do not have piped supply of water and how many houses in Delhi actually have water meters installed at their houses.

• FDI in Multi-Brand retailing is prohibited in India. FDI in Single-Brand Retailing was, however, permitted in 2006, to the extent of 51%. Since then, a total of 94 proposals have been received till May, 2010. Of this, 57 proposals were approved. An FDI inflow of US $ 194.69 million (Rs. 901.64crore) was received between April, 2006 and March, 2010, comprising 0.21% of the total FDI inflows during the period, under the category of single brand retailing. The proposals received and approved related to retail trading of sportswear, luxury goods, apparel, fashion clothing, jewellery, hand bags, lifestyle products etc., covering high-end items. Single brand retail outlets with FDI generally pertain to high-end products and cater to the needs of a brand conscious segment of the population, mainly attracting a brand loyal clientele, which often has a pre-set positive disposition towards the specific brand. This segment of customers is distinctly different from one that is catered by the small retailers/ kirana shops.

The current study attempts to analyze the relationship between cultural environment and foreign direct investment within the framework of transaction cost theory. Transaction cost theory gives the idea that differences in culture cause external uncertainty which results in higher transaction cost. The study is exploratory is nature and information is collected from secondary sources. The results show that different elements of culture influence the entry mode decisions of MNC’s. As cultural distance increases, MNEs face greater difficulty in attaining complete or truthful information about their foreign partners which increases transaction cost of operating in foreign environment. Multinational corporations should study and consider all the cultural elements before taking FDI decisions abroad because investing and functioning in culturally distant nation increases transaction cost of the MNE’s.

What makes the present process of globalization different and distinct from earlier ones is the rapid increase in the frequency and the density of these interchanges. Everything happens much faster today than it did in previous eras. The current process of globalization, which is popularly described as gradual removal of barriers to trade and investment between nations was started towards the end of the 20 th century. Abstract

Green Chemistry, also called Benign Chemistry or clean chemistry refers to the field of chemistry which refers to the synthesis i.e. the path of making chemicals, processing i.e. the actual making of chemicals and use of chemicals that minimize the hazards to humans and impact on the environment. A traditional concept in process chemistry has been the optimization of the time-space yield. From our modern perspective, this limited viewpoint must be enlarged, as for example toxic wastes can destroy natural resources and especially the means of livelihood for future generations. In addition, many feedstocks for the production of chemicals are based on petroleum, which is not a renewable resource. The key question to address is: what alternatives can be developed and used? In addition, we must ensure that future generations can also use these new alternatives. "Sustainability" is a concept that is used to distinguish methods and processes that can ensure the long-term productivity of the environment, so that even subsequent generations of humans can live on this planet. Sustainability has environmental, economic, and social dimensions.

Abstract In a country like India, where around 60% of the population is dependent on agriculture and related activities for sustainance, 35-40% of the food get perished/destroyed due to poor facilities of storage, shortage of cold-houses, poor cold-chain management, poor infrastructure for transportation etc. One of the major steps taken by the Central Government recently to encourage the organized retailing in the country was the recent decision of the cabinet to allow 51% FDI in multi brand retail and 100% in single brand retail, welcoming anyone in the world to invest in Indian retail market. Now, Multi-brand retailers must bring minimum investment of US$ 100 million. Half of this must be invested in back-end infrastructure facilities such as cold chains, refrigeration, transportation, packaging etc. to reduce post-harvest losses and provide remunerative prices to farmers. Various Multinationals and Indian Retail companies have invested a lot in the organised retail segment (wholesale & retail) and have ambitious plans further. As the organised retail stores are being openned in almost every city of the country, it has become necessary to measure the satisfaction level of customers of these stores also to understand their future purchase intentions. Satisfied customers are more likely to tell others of their favorable experiences and thus engage in positive word of mouth advertising. This study has been conducted to measure the level of customer satisfaction of the organized retail stores (Food & Grocery) in Gurgaon city of Haryana state in India.

Male and female are the two wheels of the same chariot. The Female of our country have faced the discrimination throughout the ages now and still to be continued till today and still exists in various form. Usually, discrimination is influenced by cultural norms and tradition, religion, region etc. Biologically and sociologically both are assigned different roles. Physically a female role is to look after house, children, family, and relatives and on the other hand men are made for bread earner, for hardship and for struggle for earning. We’ll all these thinking made our women weaker and deprived from basic things. Both are equal in human right. Women are discriminated in this male dominating society.
